MYSA (Milwaukee Youth Sports Alliance) - October after school program
Join WASA for a new opportunity at the Kosciuszko Community Center! We are holding after school programs for YOUTH starting Wednesday October 9th. Each month we plan to feature a different sport to try.

1st EVER BIG CHEESE SLED HOCKEY TOURNAMENT
WASA Admirals are hosting its 1st ever sled hockey event on October 5th and 6th at the Uihlein Ice Arena in River Hills, WI. Come join watch/volunteer and be inspired by youth and adults competing in this inaugural tournament as part of the Freedom League of sled hockey. WASA/CKRI Dominate at 2024 Bear Brawl
WASA/CKRI Lightning started their season off strong going 4-0 at the Shirley Ryan Bear Brawl tournament in Chicago on September 28-29. Next up is Tampa’s Halloween Howl October 25-27.

Wisconsin Adaptive Sports Association (WASA) Athletes Shine at 2024 Paralympic Games
The Wisconsin Adaptive Sports Association (WASA) proudly announces that its athletes have significantly contributed to Team USA's success at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. Among the standout achievements, Team USA's Men’s Wheelchair Basketball team won the gold medal, while the Women’s team secured the silver.
WASA boasts one of the largest adaptive sports programs in the country, with wheelchair basketball being one of its flagship programs. This year, 11 of WASA's men’s and women’s wheelchair basketball players and coaches represented Team USA in Paris, demonstrating exceptional skill and dedication.
Team USA Men’s Wheelchair Basketball: • Gold Medal Winners • Wisconsin Natives: Nate Hinze (Cedar Grove), John Boie (Milton), Talen Jourdan (Deerfield), Jake Williams (Milwaukee) - Team USA Women’s Wheelchair Basketball: • Silver Medal Winners • Wisconsin Natives: Becca Murray (Germantown), Emily Oberst (Brookfield) In addition to these Wisconsin-born athletes, WASA is home to several other remarkable individuals who have made Wisconsin their home and continue to contribute to the state's strong adaptive sports community. These include Jeromie Meyer, AJ Fitzpatrick, and Coach Christina Schwab. Furthermore, WASA's programs also attract talent from beyond state borders, including Natalie Schneider from Crete, NE, and Paul Schulte from FL.
Melissa Oberst, a member of WASA's Board of Directors, expressed her pride and excitement, stating, "We are incredibly proud of our athletes and can’t wait to see them return from Paris with their medals for a big congratulatory event. Their athleticism, hard work, and the sacrifices they make to train to compete at the highest level are extraordinary. We are beyond excited and proud!" WASA continues to be a beacon of excellence in adaptive sports, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for athletes of all backgrounds. The association looks forward to celebrating the incredible achievements of its athletes and building on this success for future competitions.

35th Annual Softball Festival Highlights
The 35th annual softball festival, held on July 21, 2024 in the parking lot of AMF Bowlero - Wauwatosa, featured 5 softball teams. 120 people played/watched/ate/volunteered during the event. Congratulations to Mike for winning top raffle prize!!!

We’re counting down the days to see one of our friends and adaptive athletes soar at the 2024 Paralympic Summer Games in Paris this summer. He will be playing Wheelchair Rugby for Canada!
WASA Hosts "The Road to Paris" Event Featuring Team USA Wheelchair Basketball Paralympians
WASA hosted a spectacular event, "The Road to Paris" at Kettle Moraine High School on June 13th, showcasing ten remarkable wheelchair basketball Paralympians bound for the upcoming Games in Paris this summer.

The WASA Lightning clinched a spot in the D2 championship game and earned a second-place finish in an exciting overtime match. Two team members were named “Best in Their Class.”
